It's "golden joint" is inaugurated, 98% of the bridge is completed and it is open to traffic. No trains have been running on.

It is an iconic bridge. However my question why not build two tracks so that one train can and the other can come from opposite direction. This way the region would prosper more. Is there any civil engineering or geographical constraint on this.

Interesting, reminds me of highways in SimCity 3000. They were elevated just like this and I have never actually seen one like that in real life until now.

I see some people think this is bad for wildlife, but as long as there are periodic openings like you see here, then it's better because you can direct them to cross at much safer locations than it being surface level. I know where I live, they've had to take additional measures to try to direct wildlife to underpasses. But with it being just a fence, they can still hop it and end up on the roadway.

All these amazing new projects in India.

Did skilled labour + skilled engineering from Indians previously working in the Emirates or Qatar or elsewhere increase the capacity to pull off these projects? 

What of the financing? Taxes paid = fiscal capacity to pull these off? Or..?

I worked in the UAE on major projects.  I've traveled in India more than most Indians. I've taught circa 600 master's students in Engineering from India. 

A) India did nothing in terms of infrastructure from Partition till about now. All of a sudden!! 

B) China exports many goods, it earns hard cash, and it builds infrastructure. India does not. I've bought Neem toothpaste from India, and that's it. 

C) Of the aforementioned students I had several master thesis on Indian Infrastructure by Indian students. The results showed how far India was behind. 

So, that's why I am a bit surprised.
